Bad Day

I recently met with a client desperately holding on to a failing marriage.  Her husband had all but checked out and had started to see another woman.  She was left with the horrible reality of facing the future as a single mom.  She had entered my office after experiencing a series at church about marriage and never giving up.  She was confused about why God would put her in a position to hear such a message, without the perception of any hope that her husband would seek to reconcile.  She was experiencing deep depression, panic and amazing grief.

I did not have any easy answers for this young woman.  Life very seldom turns out the way we want it.  At some point we all experience trials and difficulties that seem unfair and beyond our capabilities to handle.  How do experience a relationship with God when we feel alone?  How do we gain strength from total weakness?  How do we keep bitterness, anger, resentment and fear from controlling us?  These are some of the many questions that come up in situations like the one above.  But God has not left this struggling wife, as a matter of fact, He is probably closer than she knows.

God never desires struggle and pain for His people, but He is aware of it.  This world and the sin that occupies it has an effect on each and everyone of us that lives here, but God is bigger.  We can not escape the trials and tribulations of living this life, but God is with us.  Take heart, God can work through this world, in any form.  We can have hope that whatever we face today can and will refine us for tomorrow.  Our growth, and ability to do amazing and fulfilling this, in this world and beyond, is a product of the trials and tribulations we face each day.  They are not in vain.  Our God is bigger than our damaged world.  Take hope that at some point, today, tomorrow, next week, next month, or in heaven, God will grant His perfect peace and strength to you and me no matter our struggles today.  He is in the business of making "gold" (Job 23).

As I told my client, strength comes from doing what we know not what we feel.  God is with us regardless of what we feel.  Our job is to proceed each day with this knowledge, seeking Him and His purpose and desire for our day.  Let Him then reveal Himself in His timing, and take comfort in knowing He will.  God bless you today.

I want to finish my thgouht here. If God treated us fairly Jesus would have never died on the cross. and we would have never been offered salvation. I praise God that He loves me, He never fails me and He goes to plan B and on. Look ho w He blessed Israel, they sinned and went away from God countless times, but He was faithful and loved them any way. Romans 5:8 But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were sinners Christ died for us. Praise be to God!
