Bad Things

Do bad things happen to good people??

This week I was reminded that life does not always follow a script.  We can at times have all of our "t"s crossed and "i"s dotted, but things still not turn out the way we expected.  Even when God is in the center of our decisions things still can turn upside down.  In my experience it is very easy to follow these tough times with bitterness, anger, and even resentment at the circumstances, and or people involved, as we struggle to find out what went wrong and why.

However, God is never far away.  When things don't go as planned this is a perfect opportunity to see God's hands at work.  Even when God say's "wait" or "not now", He is still communicating.  Difficult times are a wonderful way to see God moving and directing our lives in a direction pleasing to Him, even if it isn't always the direction we first intended.

Yes, bad things happen to good people, the difference is often in the perspective.

Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
