    As I was jogging down a small slope this morning, I passed another jogger who commented on how much he liked going down hill, so much more than up hill.   I tend to agree with him.  Downhill is so much easier on your muscles, lungs, at times it almost feels like someone else is doing all the work.  However, going downhill will never get you anywhere, eventually you will need to go uphill.  Downhill also limits the growth of your muscles.  With gravity doing all the ...

    This past weekend I competed in the Branson 70.3 Ironman.  It was easily the toughest race I have been involved in thus far.  The hills in Branson just about did me in more than once.  But to cross the finish line and enjoy the wonderful feeling of accomplishment and victory, after months of training, made the pain quickly vanish from my memory.  The day was very much one of "mind over body".  The body says no, but the mind says go.  I find this also true ...
