Fall is upon us and I love it.  The crisp cold air, the smell of pumpkin in the kitchen, the anticipation of the holiday season right around the corner, it all gets me excited with anticipation of the coming weeks and months.  However, I think my favorite thing about fall is the changing of the leaves.  There is no other time of the year where the landscape offers so much color.  Sometimes it is more than the eyes can take in.

The interesting thing to me about leaves changing is that it is a product of death.  Leaves change into beautiful colors in the fall because they are dying.  I have heard people say that the second we are born we start to die.  I guess in some sense, this is a true statement.  But what if we die (or live) with color and brilliance.  What if the closer we get to death (and the more we live life) the more beautiful and vibrant we become.  I wonder if others would notice and marvel at the beauty?  The beauty that only God could create.

Col.  1:29, "For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me."

Wow! I LOVE this thought!!! I hope I am radiating the beauty of Christ and that I do so more and more as I grow older! I desire to be a sweet elderly saint not a crabby one! :)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
