Happy Father's Day

Not all families are created equal, and many times the dad (or dad's) we celebrate is often not the one of our birth.  I have the wonderful privilege of celebrating three dad's this father's day, and their wonderful influence on my life.

My father-in-law, Alan, is the epitome of a father.  His loyalty, patience, and never ending love, towards me, Heather, and our kids, is priceless.  My step-father, Larry, is my friend, mentor and spiritual guide.  He is the backbone of our family, and a source of never ending spiritual guidance and encouragement.  My biological father, who is the only one I call Dad, is a priceless picture of dedication and commitment to each one of his six children.  I am so proud of his constant commitment, growth, and love for me from day one.

No matter what form he takes, each of us can celebrate today, a man who has had an impact on our lives.  This person does not necessarily need a title, to be an influence.  He could be a friend, uncle, youth director, pastor, mentor, or just someone who for a short time made a difference.  Celebrate these men today.  And then celebrate the father of all our desires and needs, Jesus Christ.

1 John 4:10, "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins".

Lastly, the joy I have as a father is a product of the wonderful family God has blessed me with.  Thank you Heather, Madi and Christian, for making me so proud, and for making the job as father and husband such a wonderful joy and privilege.  I am truly blessed!

Hmm I think it would be better if it styead with being a kitteh in the tree, and have his paw on a ninja star ornament. Something like that. Still not bad, but could be better I think.

Looks wonderful Angie - I tried my hand at my first Thanksgiving spuepr for just the 3 of us and it was such an amazing feeling feeling to watch my boys enjoy it! I understand now why women and mothers take so much pride in cooking and caring for thier families. Thanks for the inspiration :)
