His

This past week we celebrated the 12th birthday of my son Christian.  The same boy that just two short weeks ago broke a light in the front of our house because he thought "it bent that way", and had to be taken to the ER at midnight after cutting his hand, making a pizza box for a halloween costume, instead of being in bed.  Regardless of the expense or frustration my son may sometimes cause, he is still today and always will be my son.  Nothing can change that fact, and I love him just the same, and always will.

As Christians we have this same love from our Heavenly Father.  No matter our actions, His love is eternal.  Nothing can separate us from His love.  I read the following statement a few days ago and I found it extremely powerful, "His kingdom is not about earning and deserving; its about believing and receiving".   My son does not need to earn or deserve my love, support, protection or commitment, he just needs to know it is there, and that is my job not his.

GREAT principle, Donnie!! And something I've held on to for years is this "There is nothing I can do to cause God to love me more, (because He already loves me with an unfailing, unconditional love) nor is there anything I can do to cause God to love me less." Whew!!!
