Leaving the Dock

Many times during my weekly triathlon training, I find myself swimming in a local lake at 5am with several equally deranged christian men.  It is always a little unsettling to leave the lighted dock area to venture ahead into the dark early morning water.  I have to possess a degree of trust in my ability and safety to move forward.

Life often brings us to a place where moving forward is accompanied by anxiety and fear.  We have to believe in the direction of our purpose and the ability within us.  God's presences and purpose during these times is a source of great strength and comfort.  It is His still small voice that allows us the courage to press on.

When I finish my swim, and have the opportunity to watch the beautiful sunrise, it is always a testament of God's wonderful nature, and the opportunity each day to trust Him and to further my relationship with Him.  We never grow as close to our Father as we will when we leave the dock and venture out for His purpose, at His time, and in His power.

Hebrews 10:23, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
