Mind over Body

This past weekend I competed in the Branson 70.3 Ironman.  It was easily the toughest race I have been involved in thus far.  The hills in Branson just about did me in more than once.  But to cross the finish line and enjoy the wonderful feeling of accomplishment and victory, after months of training, made the pain quickly vanish from my memory.

The day was very much one of "mind over body".  The body says no, but the mind says go.  I find this also true in my daily walk.  Many times my body or flesh tries to determine the course I should take in life, but the Lord directs my path through the Spirit living inside of me.  I have a choice each day what voice I will listen to, I will choice the Lord's.

Oh what a day it will be when I finally cross the final finish line and hear the words, "Well done thy good and faithful servant".

Romans 8:6, "For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace".

I needed this today. The Spirit just used these words to push me in the right direction as I was just sitting here at my desk struggling with a certain decision.

Thank you
