Pain & Suffering

Why does God allow bad things to happen to us?  Why must we endure the pain and suffering of relationships?  Why most life be so incredibly hard, and relationships even harder?  These are some of the many questions I recieve each and everyday.  People struggling to make sense of their current situation in life.  Fighting the many feelings of pain, depression and loss, enable to breath, and feeling like relief will never come.

As a therapist I will never have the right answers.  Answers that take away the pain, heal past wounds and connect people emotionally broken.  That is the hardest part of my occupation, not being able to remove the pain.  But my God is bigger than our pain, and He is able to work in and through all our circumstances.  The same God that blesses and provides for us, also has the right to allow difficulties and pain.  It is for Him to know and to direct our paths in this life, both for His purpose and Glory.  Our eternity is not of this earth, and therefore our pain and suffering are but temporary.  As disciples our time on earth is but for a moment, and it is the potter who is working with the clay, and we do not know, nor can we comprehend the finish product.

Today is a new day and it is promised that our suffering is for but a moment.  For God has prepared a place for those who love and are called by Him.  Take heart that your suffering is but  temporary, and know that the God of yesterday, today and tomorrow will see you through.

Psalms 46:1-3, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore will not we fear, through the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;  Though the waters therefore roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof."
