So many times I need nothing more than peace.  Peace from my temptation, peace from my problems, peace from my fears, peace from my pressures.  The first thing that Christ offered the disciples after His resurrection was peace.  In John 20:19, He said, "peace be with you", Christ knew that this was a critical need at that place and at that time, and He knows my need for peace as well.  But its also up to me to accept this offer.

Colossians 3:15 says, "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts".  As I read this, I recognize that this is an action I must take.  I can choose to let peace overcome me and allow myself to surrender to God's presence and provisions in my life today.  Or I can choose to go it alone, and live today under my own capabilities and strength (or lack there of).  It is so comforting to know that peace is always available, but I also must remember that my desire and action is also required each and every day.
