2 Thessalonians 3:16, "Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstances.  The Lord be with you all!"

Oh to have peace in EVERY circumstance.  Wouldn't that be a nice experience.  Yet God allows this and even provides it in Himself.

I am extremely guilty of allowing my peace to be a product of my daily circumstances.  A bad day at work, an argument with my wife or children, a conflict with a friend, can easily turn the waters of my life into a storm of anxiety, worry, stress, doubt and frustration.  It is so easy to live in this world with a "here and now" mentality, where my life revolves around what I see and feel, on a minute by minute bases.

Yet today, God reminded me that as His, I am no longer a slave to circumstances.  That my peace is provided by Him.  He is in control of my life, past, present, and future.  Nothing I can do, nor that can be done to me, will change His perfect love and plan for my life.  My job is only to draw closer to Him, that He would continue to reveal His loving and perfect will for my life, above and beyond any and all circumstances.  I can rejoice today, not because life is perfect, but because my God is perfect for my life.

SO thankful that God's peace is unconditional just as His love is! I have experienced that peace so fully through the storms of life and, because of His peace, have been able to also experience His joy through those same storms. What a gracious, kind, and loving God we serve! Thanks for the reminder, Donnie!
