Seed

In 2010, when I left the business world to pursue a career in Christian counseling, I planted a seed.  This was and is a risky move, as I didn't know where the seed would land, nor if it would yield any fruit.  I struck out on faith that my creator, the One who gave me life, had prepared me to be used by Him to bear much fruit.  That this Creator would cause the soil to be rich, my nourishment to be plenty, and that my fruit would produce and multiply.  Stepping out was not about success or notoriety, but about obedience and faithfulness.

I will admit to being nervous to being planted in a field I knew nothing about.  But I know that God created this seed for something more, and the only way to live this "something more" was to be planted somewhere new, and to die.  Yesterday Pastor Wayne reminded us that ""the hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.  Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit (John 12:23-24)."

God has revealed, and continues to reveal, His amazing blessings on me and my life.  The fruit from this seed continues to multiply, even more than I could imagine.  Each day God reveals more of how He is using me to touch others, and I am overwhelmed, satisfied, and at peace knowing that I am living in the presences and purpose of my Creator.  I will admit to worrying about the elements and nourishment required for being planted, but I continue to have hopeful expectations, as I see the fruit that is being produced.
