One of my favorite stories in the Bible is in the later half of Genesis about Joseph.  You may know him as "Joseph and the coat of many colors".  I am always so impressed by Joseph's continued trust and positive attitude towards God and his circumstance, regardless of his plight.  He went from favored son, to slave, to head of the masters house, to accused sexual predator, to second in command of a great nation, all without taking his eyes off of his Lord.

Today during my jog I became aware that Joseph never knew God's plan for him throughout his entire journey.  Not sure why this became so clear to me today, but God brought it to my attention.  For all Joseph knew, he would die as a slave or prisoner.  I am sure he had times of despair or depression over his situation.  But something kept him moving forward, trusting in God's plan, without knowing what the future would hold.  I guess I took for granted that he didn't have the opportunity to read ahead and see how richly God would bless Him.

So many times in my life I would love to read ahead, to know where the journey ends, to know God's ultimate plan, provisions and purpose.  But unfortunately, this is not the way it works.  My focus can only be on the here and now, and seeking God today.  Psalms 27:8, "When You said, "Seek My face," my heart said to You, "Your face, O Lord, I shall seek."

Rebekah, you'll be interested to know that the chrcuh didn't do all of this as a self-promotion. The only reason I knew the people were FROM the chrcuh was because I knew a few of them personally. They were doing it solely out of the goodness of their hearts and wanting to share Christ. The beverages were served in plain styrofoam cups (no chrcuh logos or contact information), and the people didn't introduce themselves as being affiliated with the chrcuh unless they were asked.
