Stength in Weakness

How do we become strong in a weak world?  If we are honest with ourselves we all have moments or experiences of weakness in our daily lives.  This is not easy to admit or recognize at times.  The world does not want to recognize weakness.  It is not proper, productive or even appropriate.  We are trained to not be weak.  Weakness often means failure.  But to be weak is to be human!

Weakness can be the result of experiencing the death of someone we love.  Or it can be the product of an illness we can not control or cure.  Weakness can come from emotions and personality traits that overcome our lives or relationships.  Weakness can come from standards we set in this world that can not be met.  We all experience weakness.  But weakness is not defined by our experience or circumstance, but how we are defined by it!

In John 16:33, Christ says, "These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace.  In the world you have tribulation, but take courage;  I have overcome the world."  What I love most about this verse is the assurance of PEACE.  Christ knows we will face times of uncertainty, pain and conflict.  But He also has already been victorious, and His victory is our peace.

Today I am encouraged that my weakness is only an opportunity to have strength through my Lord Jesus Christ.  It is through this strength that I have peace.  There will be times of weakness, but these are the opportunities for strength.

God bless you today.
