The Box

This week as I ran the streets of Edmond, I came upon a small box on the side of the road.  The box was about half the size of a shoe box and sealed with tape.  It was brown and for ordinary in shape and color.  I didn't stop to pick it up, but throughout the rest of my run I wondered about it's contents.  Was it equipment from a service truck, discarded on a street pot hole.  Maybe it was an old toy or ornament heading to an unfortunate family, accidently placed in this unfortunate place.  Or maybe this was a gift to a loved one, jewelry perhaps, thrown out due to a fight or break up.  Could there be cash in this box?  Medicine or food?  Would anyone miss it?

The truth is I will never know.  The only person who knows the exact contents of the box on the side of the road, is the person who filled the box.  I am not unlike that box.  God has placed certain gifts, talents and plans into my life that only He is aware of.  In order to live a life up to my full potential and purpose, I must know and have a full and daily relationship with Him.  My trust and obedience ensures my purpose, and His love ensures my peace.

Phil. 2:13, "for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."

Lizzy, nice review of the new clakte box. How much does that thing weigh when loaded with all your gear? Glad you have a boat to haul it around. I don't know about "pink" though.
