Weakness

I recently visited with a couple raising a severely disabled two year old child.  They fight day and night for the ability to see their circumstance in the light of God's plan and provision.  Some day's they are strong, while others not so much.  Our time together found the wife very weak and emotional.  She was struggling with her many negative thoughts and emotions, she felt that as a christian, she didn't have the right to be upset about her life.  She felt she should always see her life through rose colored glasses, regardless of the circumstance.  But unfortunately this just isn't the case.  We are not made to always be strong, regardless of popular belief, and our effort often keeps God from being the strength we truly need.

God created us to need Him.  But to need Him means we can not make it alone.  This takes the acceptance of our own weaknesses, inabilities and failures.  This is not meant to push us down, but to allow us to be lifted up by the only one that can, our Lord.  To admit our inabilities and weakness, is to admit our need for our Savior.  To rest in His presences and to accept His purpose and provisions, is to gain strength in our position and in the relationship He provides.

We are weak, accept it, but He is strong, appreciate and embrace it.

Psalms 46:10, "Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
