What If

If only I would win the lottery..., or I had more clients than I could handle..., or my church had a pastor...., or I had more friends....., or, or, or.  Wouldn't life be so much better if each of us had a few "if only's" taken care of?  Couldn't God change everything with just a single word or thought?  After all, He is God and can do anything.  Why is it that God allows us to live at times without what we feel we need?

I read this morning an illustration about trees that live in some of the most harsh elements on earth.  They survive by having deep roots that our created by necessity as a result of the elements.  Without the harsh elements, the plants roots would not be nearly as deep, but they would also not be as strong.

God allows conditions in our lives for the opportunity for us to develop deeper roots.  A Christian with adversity is one that digs deeper in their faith for the nourishment that is provided.  A Christian that has lived through adversity is stronger, and through the power that only God can provide, better equipped to handle the problems that come next.

Yes, God could make all my problems go away, but with it would come a Christian very weak in faith, and with no real understanding or appreciation of the relationship He provides, and of the God HE Is.

Why is anyone tailkng about pathetic failure of religous beliefs? You might as well wallow in the dirt like some ignorant savages. The time for being controlled slaves is 100 years ago. So not fall victim to magic and bullshit.No-religion is the one defining thing that the red communists got correct!
