He has Risen, He has Risen Indeed!!!!
Easter 2020, an Easter like no other. No one at Church, no public Easter egg hunts or potlucks (yes I grew up Baptist), no special easter dresses, no family gathers, and no Masters (yes I enjoy golf). This Easter will be celebrated at our kitchen tables or in our living rooms watching a live stream of worship music and messages from churches near and far. All in response to the CORVID-19 virus.
Yet somehow this Easter seems more real than ever before. More raw, more transparent, more intentional. We are celebrating the greatest and most important act of love and sacrifice ever seen in the history of the world, and we are doing it in the most real and obvious place in our world today, our homes. This is the place of our greatest and worst moments, the place we are never more real. The place we take off our masks and show our real person. We can not hide what is real in our homes, like we can the church. And now God is being driven into this place, by a virus, or maybe just by God's ordained plan.
Matthew 28:18 says, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Today are teaching starts in the home, where God is, and maybe has never ben more present.
May God richly bless you and your loved ones as He is near and present like never before.
