Wisdom

I was reading this morning in James 3:13. It says, "Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom." In this current culture of disease and race conflict we often feel the need to match peoples volume and vibrato with our own in an effort to make a point or win an argument. But in most cases this only serves to escalate the strife and limits our

opportunity to have an impact on others in a way that might just change the narrative or even society in general. Good behavior and gentleness has a way of making an impact where all else fails. People expect energy, they our prepared for arguments, they are ready for a fight. What they are not prepared for is acts of wisdom and insight that allow us to be people of differences committed to community. I challenge you the next time the polarizing subjects of our culture come up at the water cooler or around your dinner table to be wise and show good behavior and exhibit gentleness, it might just change the outcome in a very positive way.
